Which Echo Show Models This Page Covers
Amazon Echo Show is a family of smart displays. This guide covers the Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 11 introduced in 2025, rather than assuming every older or larger Echo Show has the same hardware. These models combine Alexa+ interaction with a screen for household information, compatible home controls, media, and calls. Hardware announcement
A shared screen is the practical reason to consider one over a voice-only assistant: another household member can see a calendar, select a device, or look at a camera feed without taking over someone's phone.
Shared Controls and Personalization
Amazon documents a dashboard for compatible home devices and camera feeds, along with family calendar views and media controls. Setup uses the Alexa app after powering the display. Visual ID can be enabled for personalized screen content; it should be treated as a deliberate household setting rather than assumed for every person walking past. Setup and daily use
The covered Show 8 and Show 11 include an AZ3 Pro processor, 13MP camera, and built-in support for Zigbee, Matter, and Thread. Protocol support does not guarantee that any particular accessory or service exposes every desired function. Covered-model hardware
Hardware Price Is Separate From Alexa+ Access
As checked on October 16, 2026, Amazon.com displayed the following US prices for Glacier White, Device only configurations, sold and shipped by Amazon.com:
- Echo Show 8 (2025): USD 199.99. Current Show 8 product page
- Echo Show 11 (2025): USD 249.99. Current Show 11 product page
These are dated product-page prices before any applicable tax, using a US delivery view. They exclude a separate stand or protection plan and do not assume an Amazon Visa approval discount, trade-in credit, bundle price, or Prime-only delivery benefit. Availability and the final total depend on the selected configuration and delivery location; the cart and checkout were not tested. The lower amounts in Amazon's 2025 announcement are historical launch prices. Launch announcement
In the US, full Alexa+ access on compatible Echo Show devices is included at no additional charge with an eligible Amazon Prime membership, or costs USD 19.99 per month through a standalone Alexa+ subscription. Non-Prime customers can also use a free, usage-limited text chat at Alexa.com and in the Alexa app; that chat tier does not establish full Alexa+ access on Echo Show hardware. Official US access tiers Prime itself is a separate paid membership; included Alexa+ does not mean the display or all connected services are free. Current assistant pricing
Features and access vary by region. The current overview distinguishes full availability in the US and Canada from early access elsewhere; a US service description should not be treated as a worldwide entitlement.
Camera Services and Privacy Controls
Ring camera summaries and Video Search require compatible cameras and eligible Ring intelligent-feature coverage, billed separately from Echo Show hardware and Alexa+. As checked on October 16, 2026, US Ring Pro costs USD 19.99 per month or USD 199.99 per year, before applicable tax, and includes intelligent features such as Video Search. Ring Solo and Ring Multi need the optional Pro Intelligence add-on for intelligent features; a base plan alone does not establish that entitlement. Confirm the exact feature and camera eligibility for the account and region. Current Ring plans 2026 plan changes Amazon's setup guide specifically excludes Video Search for Ring customers in Illinois. Ring feature conditions
The Alexa Privacy dashboard provides access to interaction information and settings. The presence of an AI accelerator does not establish an entirely offline assistant. Alexa+ privacy and service model
